The following sets out the Privacy Policy for BESTIE. As approved by Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust.
We respect the privacy rights of our online visitors and recognise the importance of protecting the information we collect about you. Our Privacy Policy is designed to help you understand how we collect, hold, use and disclose personally identifiable information about you. By visiting and using our services, you accept this privacy policy.
For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 2018, we are the data controller.
‘Organisation’ – An entity, that is separate from Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, that operates on our platform to provide you with a service.
‘Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust’ – will be referred to as WHACT throughout this Privacy Policy.
When you use our application, you will provide us various pieces of personal information. By providing us with this information and using the application, you consent to us processing and collecting this data, on the terms and for the reasons which are explained below.
Please note that WHACT run groups on our application. If you enter one of these groups, please note that this Privacy Policy will no longer apply. You should make sure you are aware of the Organisation’s privacy policy before entering or interacting with the group. When you are entered into a group, for the purpose of the Data Protection Act 2018, the group will be the controller and WHACT are the data processor.
All information you provide to us is stored in the UK based secure servers and encrypted using 256-bit encryption.
The data we collect from you will not be transferred to, processed and or stored in a destination outside of the European Economic Area (EEA).
Due to the special category data that we will collect, data will be collected from children who maybe under the age of 13. BESTIE will transfer this ‘clinical data’ in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and will protect that data as securely as possible and in accordance with this privacy policy.
We may disclose your personal information and special category data to any Organisation of the BESTIE application.
You have the right under the Data Protection Act 2018 to access the information which we hold about you. If you wish to exercise this right, please send your request to whcnhs.bestie@nhs.net.

We reserve the right to change our Privacy Policy at any time. If changes are made to this policy, please note that they will take immediate effect and therefore we recommend that you revise this policy regularly.

WHACT regularly reviews its compliance with this Privacy Policy. We will cooperate with the appropriate regulatory authorities, including local data protection authorities, to resolve any complaints regarding the transfer of personally identifiable information that cannot be resolved between WHACT and an individual or company.
