What is Wupwoo?

Common Answers:

a) Wupwoo Ltd is the organisation that created the Wupwoo App. For information please see our about us page.

b) Wupwoo is an anonymous, fun, free, interactive and social support app, which is perfect for all ages! It is a place where you can escape your surroundings in reality and immerse yourself into your Wupwoo world of socialising, fun, support and self-expression. Wupwoo provides you with a source of online moral support and helps you engage in social and physical activities. See What Can I Do on Wupwoo? for more information.

I can’t sign up/register?

a) This is most likely because you are entering data incorrectly into the fields. Please check the error messages provided for each field.

b) However, if problems persist then please contact our help team via our contact page.

I have a problem downloading the app?

a) Please make sure you have tried to download the app from either the Google Play Store (Android) or the App Store (iOS).

b) If the problem persists please contact our technical team (support@wupwoo.com) providing the following information:

Phone/Device Type
Operating System
Downloading Source
Any error messages being received.

Our technical team will try to find a solution to your problem. However, please note that our technical team may require further information from you.

I’ve forgotten my password or username.

a) On the log in page there is a “Forgot your password?” link underneath the login button. Click this link. Then, enter the email address associated with your account. You will receive an email with a link a link to reset your password. Please be aware that  this email could end up in your junk/spam box – so don’t forget to check there!

b) If answer “a)” has not worked for you, then please contact a member of our help team via our contact page.

c) Also, if you’ve forgotten your username, then please contact us and we can tell you what your username is.

I’ve forgotten my email address.

Please contact us and we can tell you which email address you used to sign up.

The app won’t work - there is an error/glitch/bug or the App wont display properly or ‘crashes’.

a) For any issues with the app not working properly or bugs, whether in regards to displays or functions or ‘crashes’, please contact our technical team (support@wupwoo.com). Please include the following information:

What you were trying to do at the time.
The phone/device you were using at the time.
The operating system you were running.
Any further information you may believe is helpful in regards to the issue.

Then, a member of our technical team will try to fix your problem.

How do I report a problem?

a) You can report problems in several ways, all of which are found on our ‘Contact Us’ page. Ways in which we can be contacted include: phone, email, quick enquiry form, Twitter and Facebook.

What should I do if I’m harassed by anotheruser? (This includes; Harassment, Inappropriate behaviour, Disruption of the Game environment.)

a) Please contact us to report the problem. However, if the problem is of a legal or criminal nature, then please report the problem to the police or relevant authorities. Do not attempt to confront the problem yourself.

If I have a problem with a chat venue, what should I do?

a) If you feel the chat venue is inappropriate or have any other issues with a chat venue, then please inform us via our Contact Page. A member of our team will look into and if possible address your concerns before getting back to you.

How do I add credits?

a) Add free credits by using the app to scan promotional QR Codes or NFC tags found on credit spots. Then these credits will be added to your account.

I can’t receive emails from Wupwoo or the Wupwoo newsletter.

a) Make sure you have allowed Wupwoo emails to come through your spam settings and that it is not blocked.

b) Try a secondary email address.

Where can I view the App Privacy Notice and App Terms of Use?

a) The app Privacy Notice and App Terms of Use are displayed on every page where data about a child is collected. Here is a link to the Privacy Notice and App Terms of Use.

How do I give consent for my child to use the app?

a) If your child is under 13 years old, then when they sign up to the app they will be required to give an email address for a parent/carer/healthcare professional. This is so that their username for the app can be emailed to the parent/carer/healthcare professional who can then give it to the child if they consent to them using the app.

What information do you collect about me and a child that I have given consent for?

a) Please see the App Privacy Policy to see what information we collect about you and a child that you have given consent for.

Where can I review the data that has been collected about a child I have given consent for?

a) To review the data that has been collected about a child please email data@wupwoo.com

How do I know that any data stored with you is kept securely?

a) All data that we retain is done so using the principles of the UK Data Protection Act 2018 as well as with the guidance from the US COPPA Regulations. To access our policies please follow see our Privacy & Policies page.

Where can I consent for the collection of data that is for a different purpose than the one I had originally agreed to?

How do I withdraw my consent for the collection of data for a child I have already given consent for?

a) To withdraw consent for the collection of data for a child that you have already given consent for, please email data@wupwoo.com

If I withdraw consent for the collection of data for a child I had originally given consent for, will this mean that this child will no longer have access to the app?

a) If you withdraw consent for the collection of data for a child that you had originally given consent for, that child will no longer be able to access the full app and all their data will be deleted with the exception of medical data.

How do I sign a child back up to the app after I have withdrawn my consent?

a) To sign a child back up to the app after you have withdrawn your consent you will need to go through the original sign up process.

Will the information that is collected from a child that I have given consent for be shared with a third party?

What do I need to join Wupwoo as an organisation?

For an organisation to join Wupwoo, you must meet the qualifying criteria:

Your organisation wants or needs more customers.

Your staff have been DBS checked.

You are a fully insured legal venue.

One or more of your staff have first aid training.

Your organisation can provide deals and offers for users to use in your organisation, e.g. free drinks, 20% off food or entry (prize cap set by you).
